The Telecommunications Systems Technician II (TST II) will be responsible for programming and updating radio profiles, aligning radios and compliant testing with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations, inspecting radios installed in CHP/CalFire vehicles and motorcycles to ensure FCC compliance, traveling to various work sites throughout CA with possible standby for after-hours requests.

Working Conditions

In Office: This position supports and manages the day-to-day business operations for Cal OES which is handled in an office location. This is not considered a hybrid telework position.  

DMV Pull Program: Participation in the DMV Pull Program is required. The position(s) require(s) a valid California Driver’s License (CDL). You must answer the questions addressing your CDL on your application. Ensure you provide your CDL number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions.

THIS POSITION IS SUBJECT TO THE POST & BID PROCESS:

Priority will be given to Cal OES Post & Bid applicants (if any).  Post & Bid applications must be received or post marked no later than 04/16/25to be considered. Post & Bid applications will be accepted from individuals currently employed by the Cal OES, with permanent status in the classification.
