Pay Range: $38.02 - $55.18 per hour

Job Summary:
The Senior Financial Planning Analyst within the Research and Clinical Trials Office (RCTO) at Rush MD Anderson Cancer Center plays a key role in supporting financial operations related to clinical research. This entry-level, individual contributor position ensures accurate financial reporting, timely study progress, and effective cross-departmental coordination. The analyst will compile and analyze financial data, identify trends and issues, and serve as a resource to internal stakeholders. The role requires adaptability, attention to detail, and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement. Required Job Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Finance, or related field.
• Minimum of three years of experience in research finance (budgeting and accounts receivable) or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills (oral, written, and presentation).
• Highly motivated, self-confident, and committed to continuous learning.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Job Qualifications:
• Experience in a large healthcare system or similar complex environment.

Job Responsibilities:
• Extract and analyze financial and operational data from internal systems (e.g., Rush Research Portal, OnCore, Link).
• Generate and maintain dashboards and reports to track study progress, billing, and milestones.
• Identify financial risks and opportunities across the research portfolio and escalate as needed.
• Monitor the financial lifecycle of trials to ensure alignment with timelines and budgets.
• Track milestone achievements and payments associated with clinical trial agreements.
• Liaise with departments including the Office of Research Administration (ORA), Revenue Cycle, and Study Teams to resolve bottlenecks.
• Attend and support study team meetings, providing financial insights and updates.
• Partner with the Sponsor Invoicing team to ensure accurate and timely billing.
• Reconcile invoicing records with study activity to ensure all billable services are captured.
• Assist in developing and improving SOPs for financial tracking and reporting.
• Support implementation of system enhancements or process optimizations for financial workflows.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
