West Chester University Hillel is seeking a dynamic, warm and enthusiastic professional for our Program and Engagement Associate opportunity. The right candidate will have contagious passion, an entrepreneurial spirit, superb organizational and communication skills and a commitment to Jewish life. Our Hillel is the perfect place to get to know a growing Jewish student population at a school on the rise and to design or redesign programs to meet students' needs. You will be part of a campus team and the Philly Hillel team forging bonds, transcending boundaries, and activating the Jewish future.
The Program and Engagement Associate is a key member of the professional team responsible for implementing Hillel’s strategic vision of Jewish life on campus. This person works closely with all student leadership and is responsible for reaching out to new and under-involved students. The Program Associate also plays a critical role in all programming that takes place, creating a warm, welcoming environment for Jewish students throughout campus.
West Chester University is a vibrant campus, with over 17,000 students who are active in fraternity/sorority life, multicultural organizations, service learning, and athletics. About 400 of those students are Jewish. The university is less than one hour from Philadelphia and is the largest of the 14 universities in the Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education. Surrounded by a quaint college town, WCU is a rapidly expanding university where many students study medical fields, education, business and finance, and the liberal arts. The student body is just as passionate about social justice as they are about going out and having a good time. The student body is very diverse with many students coming from low income families, or are first generation college students.
In 1923, Rabbi Benjamin Frankel started Hillel with humble means, a noble mission and a breathtaking vision: to convey Jewish civilization to a new generation. Today, Hillel International continues to enrich the lives of Jewish students and is the largest Jewish campus organization in the world at nearly 1,000 colleges and universities across North America and around the world. As Hillel evolves as an organization, the mission remains steadfast: to create lasting connections with every Jewish student that foster an enduring commitment to Jewish life, learning, and Israel and train them to become the next Jewish leaders.
Hillel is an equal opportunity employer. We are committed to creating an accepting and inclusive environment for all.
