Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW:

The Pizza Chef candidate has strong experience making pizza from scratch, maintaining high-quality standards, and working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. This role plays an important part in delivering exceptional food and guest experiences across our venue

JOB EXPECTATIONS:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Prepare pizza dough and sauces from scratch according to company recipes and specifications.
  • Expertly stretch, shape, and work with pizza dough to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Execute all aspects of food preparation with precision, efficiency, and attention to detail.
  • Maintain high standards of food quality, presentation, and portion control.
  • Ensure all menu items meet company specifications and quality.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
  • Follow and uphold all kitchen sanitation standards and food safety procedures.
  • Properly label, date, and store all food products; ensure strict adherence to FIFO (First-In, First-Out) rotation practices.
  • Regularly restock kitchen supplies and ingredients needed for service.
  • Assist in minimizing food costs and waste through proper prep, storage, and portioning.
  • Prepare and plan production one to two days in advance to ensure product availability and smooth shift coverage.
  • Maintain strong menu knowledge and ensure consistent plate presentation standards.
  • Communicate effectively with management, chefs, and front-of-house staff to address guest needs and operational issues.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a team, assisting both guests and fellow employees as needed.
  • Follow all company, division, and departmental policies and procedures.
  • Other duties assigned. 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position does have any supervisory responsibilities.

REQUIREMENTS : (Include equipment knowledge/use)

  • Previous experience as a Pizza Chef or Line Cook in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of scratch cooking techniques, especially dough and sauce preparation.
  • Understanding of food safety, sanitation standards, and kitchen best practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Team-oriented mindset with excellent communication skills.
  • Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required in hospitality environments.
  • At least 18 years of age.

CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS

  • Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations. 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be able to work under time constraints and within established deadlines.
  • Must regularly lift and/move up to 50 pounds, and must have the ability to push, pull, reach and balance when performing job duties in varying work areas such as confined spaces. 
  • Physical ability and stamina to stand for long hours.
  • Physically able to walk without assistance on various surfaces for an extended period of time.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• Work is performed indoors and outdoors in a climate-controlled environment and exposed to various environmental factors such as but not limited to noise, dust and smoke.
