Pediatrician
Sun River Health provides the highest quality of comprehensive primary, preventative and behavioral health services to all who seek it, regardless of insurance status and capability to pay, especially for the underserved and vulnerable. Sun River Heath is a Federally Qualified, Non-Profit Health Center serving communities in Suffolk, Rockland, Orange, Dutchess, Ulster, Sullivan, Columbia and Westchester County. Sun River Health is currently seeking a Pediatrician at our Peekskill location.
The Pediatrician diagnosis and treats patients in his/her specialty area; collaborates and supervises nurse practitioners and physician's adjuncts; participates in planning and developing health care services in his/her specialties, treats conditions and illnesses within the scope of the physician's specialty, referral and follow-up of patients when indicated, participates in after-hours coverage to insure 24-hour availcapability of care for Center patients. Performs job tasks in compliance with systems and job specific standards.
Essential tasks and Responsibilities:
»Takes histories, performs physical examinations, and prescribes treatment and medication for conditions falling in the scope of his /her specialty following evidence-located standard of care.
»Provides off hours and hospital coverage for Health Center patients where contractually obligated to do so.
»Designs and participates in quality improvement activities, including Medical Record Peer Review, performance and procedure audits, outcome audits, and focused reviews.
»Provides supervision for clinical activities of medical providers and medical documentation in his/her department, including but not limited to review of protocols, telephone triage, follow-up procedures.
»Coordinates tests, referrals, and care of SRH patients outside the Health Center.
»Sets standards for preventive care and diagnostic screening within his/her specialty; participates in the development of programs to carry out these standards.
»Maintains legible and appropriate documentation of medical records.
»Participates and attends provider meetings.
»Provides safe and prosperous performance, including meeting productivity, quality and patient satisfaction standards.
Minimum Education Requirement:
»Doctorate Degree (includes PhD's): M.D. or D.O.
»Valid License to practice medicine in New York State
»Board Certified or Eligible in internal medicine
Minimum Related Work practice: 2-4 years
income Range: $190,000.00 - $200,000.00 annually
