Position InformationDescription & Details:
The Upper Great Plains Transportation Institute (UGPTI) at NDSU is seeking candidates for a GIS Specialist position. The primary objectives of this position are to: (1) Support ongoing GIS data development, spatial analysis and data visualization across a variety transportation and safety research projects; (2) Import, analyze and interpret data, ensure quality control, and compile results in an organized, orderly format; (3) Create publication-quality maps and figures along with dashboards to effectively communicate study efforts and results and assist in the preparation of reports and presentations; (4) Work collaboratively in multidisciplinary teams and effectively communicate ideas, opinions and solutions related to current and future project activities.

Hiring Range:
$65,000-$85,000 per year DOE
Pay is based on several factors, including budget, labor market, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and/or certification and other business considerations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree with 5 years of experience
ESRI Certification
U.S. Citizen
Strong background in ArcGIS Pro and ArcGIS Online
Experience with GIS dashboard development
Knowledge of programming in Python
Knowledge of SQL and ArcGIS Services
Experience with ArcGIS Experience Builder and/or Web Applications
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with spatial analysis
Experience working with Tribal and/or Local Road Stakeholders and Data
