The NICET Level III Fire Alarm Designer will contribute to the creation of safe and efficient fire alarm systems. The Fire Alarm Designer will utilize expertise in fire safety codes engineering principles and industry standards to design customized fire alarm systems tailored to our clients needs. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills attention to detail and a passion for enhancing fire safety in various environments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Conducting site surveys to assess fire risks and building layouts.

• Collaboration with architects engineers and clients to understand project requirements

• Read and interpret blueprints specifications and codes.

• Prepare shop drawings/plans using AutoCAD that meet applicable codes and manufacturer requirements.

• Utilizing computer-aided design (CAD) software to develop detailed schematics and plans for fire alarm installations.

• Prepare submittals and material lists.

• Communicate with local officials engineers architects and customers.

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints submittals specifications manufacturers manuals and codes to produce designs and submittals to be reviewed by local officials.

• Remain updated on advancements in fire alarm technology and regulations to ensure compliance and optimal system performance.

• Must have good communication and organization skills.

• Be able to develop and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction and accomplish tasks in a timely and safe manner.

• Other duties as assigned by manager.

Education/Qualification:

• High School Diploma or equivalent.

• Bachelors Degree in related field preferred.

• NICET Certification Level III in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II minimum).

• Experience with Notifier Siemens Firelite or Silent Knight fire alarm systems preferred.

• Understanding of California AHJ fire alarm requirements and code.

• AutoCAD experience required. Other drafting programs may be considered.

• Possess professional business communications skills both written and oral.

• Self-learner self-motivated dedicated organized and a team player.

Physical Requirements:

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• While performing the essential functions of this job the employee is regularly required to stand walk use hands to finger handle or feel reach with hands or arms stoop kneel crouch or crawl and is occasionally required to lift and/or move heavy objects.

• The work also requires the following physical abilities in order to perform the essential job functions: balancing climbing grasping hearing mental acuity pulling pushing repetitive motion speaking talking and visual acuity.

Pay Range:

• $75000 - $85000 salary DOE
