ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENTIST (PERMANENT INTERMITTENT) – CENTRAL VALLEY DISTRICT / NATURAL RESOURCES / CASWELL MEMORIAL STATE PARK
The reporting location for this position is Caswell Memorial State Park in Ripon, CA. This position will work under the supervision of Senior Environmental Scientist (Supervisory).
We are looking for a team player to work in some of the most beautiful parks in the State Park System including but not limited to Caswell Memorial State Park, Great Valley Grasslands State Park, George J. Hatfield State Recreation Area, and McConnell State Recreation Area. The Environmental Scientist will have primary responsibility for administering the Central Valley District's Proposition 64 program for the cleanup, remediation, and restoration of environmental damage in watersheds affected by marijuana cultivation and related activities.
Typical working hours are 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM on full days, but schedule may vary depending on operational need. This position may also be working nights, weekends, and overnight at units within the district, depending on program/project need.
Training and Development Assignments may be considered.
Possession of a valid Class C driver’s license is required. You must answer the questions addressing your driver’s license on your application. Ensure you provide your driver’s license number, class, expiration date, and any endorsements and/or restrictions on your application.
The selected candidate is required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan fingerprinting prior to appointment.
Occasional travel may be required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle.
This position may work up to 1500 hours in any calendar year.
