Organization/Team Mission

As COO of Mercari Group’s fintech business, you will plan and execute business strategies and drive disruptive business growth.

You will be expected to not simply operate the business with our existing resources, but constantly maintain a vision for achieving 10X growth and drive strategies and execution to attain massive results.

In addition, you will also be expected to maintain a holistic view of synergy across Mercari Group, planning and executing business strategies that involve the group as a whole.

Work Responsibilities 

• Planning and advancing business strategies for payments, credit, and cryptoassets
• Identifying key drivers of growth for each business, and orchestrating collaboration across organizations to achieve new levels of business growth

Unique Challenges 

Merpay visualizes credit information using transaction data from Mercari, and continues to launch various new services with the aim of using credit to create a world in which people can enjoy the things they love.

• To achieve disruptive business growth within the rapidly changing fintech industry, we must consider the solutions that are needed, identify the issues that stand in the way, and create mechanisms from the ground up. This role comes with a wide range of responsibilities, but for those with an active desire to grow and broaden their knowledge and expertise, it also comes with an environment in which you can take on bold challenges.

Qualifications 

• Required Experience/Skills

  • Shared understanding and belief in our company’s mission and values
  • Experience as a COO in the financial or internet industry, or similar executive experience
  • Thorough knowledge of various business functions, such as business development, marketing, sales, and product
  • Ability to formulate and execute high-level strategies and coordinate with various stakeholders within the group to advance the business
  • Experience leading organizations outside of your field of expertise and teams with members of diverse backgrounds

• Preferred Experience/Skills

  • Executive experience at a fintech-related business
  • Extensive knowledge of corporate governance and other protection practices
  • Experience working in an English-speaking environment

• Language 

  • Japanese: Proficient (CEFR - C1)
  • English: Independent (CEFR - B2) preferred
