Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Class B Truck Driver to join our transportation team. This role involves operating medium-duty trucks to transport freight efficiently and safely across designated routes. The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and experience handling various types of cargo, including refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and other specialized loads. Duties
Operate Class B trucks with manual transmissions, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods across assigned routes. Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks, adhering to safety protocols. Deliver cargo to various locations, including commercial sites and distribution centers, following planned routes and schedules. Handle different types of freight, including refrigerated items, flatbed loads, tankers, and other specialized cargo. Perform routine vehicle inspections before and after trips to ensure proper functioning and safety compliance. Maintain accurate delivery documentation, including manifests and delivery receipts. Adhere to all federal, state, and local transportation laws and regulations. Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times and any issues encountered during transit. Assist with vehicle maintenance requests or repairs as needed to ensure optimal operation. Support team efforts by providing feedback on route efficiency and safety improvements.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years of commercial driving experience with a Class B license preferred. Proficiency in operating manual transmission trucks in various conditions. Experience driving refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or dump trucks is highly desirable. Previous delivery driver experience involving load & unload procedures across diverse cargo types. Familiarity with route driving logistics and navigation tools for efficient deliveries. Knowledge of safety standards related to trucking operations, including DOT regulations. Ability to operate auxiliary equipment such as forklifts or roll-off trucks when necessary. Strong organizational skills for managing documentation and vehicle maintenance logs. Excellent communication skills for coordinating with dispatch teams and clients.
