You should be a collaborative team player, eager to use modern technology and authentic resources to bring the Italian-speaking world to life for students of all levels.


World Language – Italian Teacher – 1.0 FTE


Responsibilities:

  • Teach all levels of Italian, from Italian I through AP Italian, to students with diverse academic backgrounds.
  • Develop and implement engaging and effective lesson plans that align with curriculum standards.
  • Utilize culturally responsive teaching practices to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment.
  • Collaborate with colleagues in job-alike groups to design, implement, and refine curriculum.
  • Integrate digital curriculum and 1:1 iPad instruction effectively into the classroom.
  • Utilize instructional and multimedia technologies to enhance student learning.
  • Actively participate in professional development and stay current with best practices in world language education.
  • Contribute to the school community by coaching or sponsoring co-curricular activities.

Qualifications:

  • Valid State of Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Senior High School endorsement in Italian.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach all levels of Italian, including AP Italian.
  • Proven experience in applying culturally responsive teaching practices.
  • Commitment to collaborative curriculum development and implementation.
  • Proficiency in integrating digital curriculum and technology into instruction.
  • Willingness and ability to teach students at differing academic levels.
  • Commitment to coach or sponsor co-curricular activity.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.





Preferred Qualifications:

  • EL Endorsement.
  • Active membership in professional world language organizations.
  • Experience in coaching and/or sponsoring co-curricular activities.
